Market signal

On August 25, Ciena published a survey on AI connectivity opportunities. Among respondents, 90% expect revenue growth and 96% see potential in managed optical networks. These are market expectations, not demonstrated returns.

What it means for the ISP

For an ISP, the business case can start with a retail chain that needs to retrieve events across branches. A faster link creates value when it supports a service with defined retention, availability and support.

Before investing, compare traffic per camera, peak-hour congestion, clip retrieval time and monthly cost per site. Processing close to customers may reduce cloud-bound transport, but adds local storage, power and operations. Margin calculations must include those costs and reserve capacity.

How it connects with Horus ISP

Horus ISP supports an architecture connecting cameras, events, evidence, permissions and apps. In the proposed design, the customer retains capture and local continuity; the datacenter consolidates multi-tenant management and regional evidence; cloud resources handle authorized functions.

The survey establishes neither a Ciena integration nor guaranteed Horus savings. Each deployment must validate routes, isolation and service objectives under realistic load.

Services and packages

  • Multi-site connectivity and managed video with unified support.
  • Regional evidence retention with an included volume and retention period.
  • Priority clip retrieval add-on, subject to performance testing.
  • Gradual migration from isolated recorders, starting with the highest-cost sites.
